Under the costume, it is still a 40% ABV blended Scotchin the Ballantine’s Finest family; the fun is really in the crossover packaging, not some secret vault-aged Pandora barrel guarded by skags. In plain terms: Ballantine’s put its house blend in a Borderlands cosplay outfit, and somehow the whisky looks less confused than most brand collaborations.
MY TAKE
People are super excited by how cool and unique the bottle looks, especially the Borderlands/Moxxi branding. However, they’re pretty indifferent about the actual whisky inside—mostly because it seems to just be standard Ballantine’s Finest dressed up in a fancy wrapper, and nobody’s really talking about how the liquid itself tastes.
