Product Description

THE BARTENDER’S BOOK

Guinness Draught 0.0% Alcohol-Free offers the iconic experience of Guinness without the alcohol, courtesy of a gentle cold‑filtration process that preserves its signature creamy head, dark ruby‑red hue, and rich roasted‑barley flavor. The aroma is filled with notes of coffee and dark chocolate, while the taste delivers a harmonious balance of bitterness and sweetness, finishing smooth and silky despite a slightly lighter body than its alcoholic counterpart. Reviewers consistently praise it as remarkably close to the original, one declared it “nails the flavor, body, and texture of regular Guinness”—making it a standout non‑alcoholic stout that brings the full Guinness experience to social occasions, sporty nights, or a mindful sip without compromise.

TASTING NOTES

Taste is more than flavor. It is the full conversation between glass, nose, mouth, and memory. Here, we break each spirit into four parts:

AROMA

Roasted coffee, cocoa, dark malt, faint chocolate, light grain sweetness, and a soft earthy note.

PALATE

Roasted barley, coffee, cocoa, mild chocolate, light caramel, soft bitterness, and a slightly sweeter malt center than standard Draught.

FINISH

Short to medium, dry-leaning, lightly bitter, and roasted, with lingering coffee, cocoa, grain, and mild sweetness.

TEXTURE

Creamy, nitrogen-softened, and smooth, with a dense head and fine bubbles, though the body is a little thinner than full-strength Guinness Draught.

Guinness Draught 0.0% Alcohol Free delivers a close non-alcoholic version of the classic Draught profile: roasted barley, coffee, cocoa, light chocolate, mild bitterness, and creamy nitrogen texture. It keeps the visual and textural identity surprisingly well, though the body is slightly lighter and the finish less rounded than the original.

STRAIGHT TALK

Guinness 0.0 is one of the better non-alcoholic beer translations because it protects the two things that matter most to Guinness Draught: roast and texture. The nitrogen-style creaminess does a lot of work. The flavor is not quite as full as the original, and the finish can feel a touch thinner, but it does not taste like a generic dark soda. It tastes recognizably like Guinness, which is the whole point.

THE MIX

For culinary-pairing context, Guinness 0.0 works with roasted mushrooms, grilled onions, sharp cheddar, brown bread, roasted potatoes, lentil stew, smoked fish, oysters, dark chocolate, coffee desserts, and charred vegetables.

The Jazz Chef angle: this is Guinness with the alcohol removed but the bass line mostly intact, roasted malt, coffee, cocoa, cream, and a dry dark snap.

A DISTILLER’S TALE

Guinness 0.0 was developed as a non-alcoholic version of Guinness Draught, using a process designed to remove alcohol while preserving the stout’s familiar roasted flavor and creamy presentation. The product had an early 2020 recall in the U.K. over microbiological contamination concerns, but it later returned and became part of Guinness’ broader alcohol-free lineup. Guinness now presents it as a non-alcoholic stout inspired by the same dark ruby liquid, creamy head, chocolate and coffee notes, and bitter-sweet roasted balance of the original.

MY TAKE

Guinness Draught 0.0% Alcohol Free is impressively close to the real Draught experience. Coffee, cocoa, roasted barley, light bitterness, and nitrogen creaminess all show up clearly. It is thinner than full-strength Guinness, but not hollow. For a non-alcoholic stout, it is one of the more successful category translations.
