The Master Blender’s Selection series gives Hennessy’s master blender more freedom than the house’s permanent expressions. For No. 5, Renaud Fillioux de Gironde selected eaux-de-vie from 18 exclusive family-run distillers as a tribute to the behind-the-scenes artisans who supply Hennessy. Hennessy describes the wines as double-distilled on the lees, then blended to reveal balance and complementarity across the selected eaux-de-vie. The series is designed around one-time blends, so No. 5 is not intended to become a permanently reproduced formula.
