Crisp and aromatic, Ketel One Citroen blends the brand’s ultra-smooth wheat vodka with natural lemon and lime essences. It opens with fresh lemon zest and a hint of lemon cream, followed by notes of candied citrus peel and a touch of white pepper. The finish is bright, clean, and refreshing. Crafted by the Nolet family in Schiedam, Netherlands, this citrus expression is ideal for vodka sodas, lemon drops, or chilled neat. 40% ABV.
Taste is more than flavor. It is the full conversation between glass, nose, mouth, and memory. Here, we break each spirit into four parts:
Fresh lemon zest, lemon oil, soft lime peel, clean wheat vodka, delicate honey, and light mineral freshness.
Freshly cut lemon, lime zest, mild honey sweetness, soft grain, citrus oil, and a clean vodka core.
Long, clean, and citrus-led, with lingering lemon custard, honey, lime peel, and mild warmth.
Silky, polished, and smooth, with enough citrus-oil weight to feel fuller than plain neutral vodka.
Ketel One Citroen delivers a polished citrus-vodka profile built around lemon zest, lime peel, honey, soft wheat, citrus oil, and a clean finish. It is brighter than standard Ketel One, but less sugary than many flavored vodkas, with enough texture to keep the citrus from feeling thin.
Ketel One Citroen is one of the better citrus vodkas because it keeps the lemon clean and restrained. The flavor leans more toward zest, peel, and citrus oil than candy. The honey note softens the edge without turning the bottle syrupy. It is still flavored vodka, so depth has limits, but the execution is disciplined.
For culinary-pairing context, Ketel One Citroen works with lemon, lime, cucumber, dill, mint, basil, thyme, ginger, black pepper, cranberry, raspberry, blueberry, seafood, goat cheese, white chocolate, honey, and light chile.
The Jazz Chef angle: this is Ketel One with a citrus blade, lemon zest, lime peel, honey, wheat, and mineral snap, clean enough to cut without tearing up the dish.
Ketel One comes from the Nolet Distillery, a Dutch distilling family with roots in Schiedam going back to 1691. The Ketel One brand launched in 1983, named for Distilleerketel No. 1, the copper pot still associated with the house. Citroen extends that wheat-vodka base into a citrus expression, using lemon and lime character to sharpen the otherwise clean Dutch profile.
Ketel One Citroen is clean, bright, and well-controlled. Lemon zest, lime peel, honey, soft wheat, and citrus oil give it a real profile without turning it into candy vodka. It is not complex in the way an aged spirit can be complex, but within the citrus-vodka lane, it is one of the more disciplined bottles.
