STRAIGHT TALK
Ketel One Citroen is one of the better citrus vodkas because it keeps the lemon clean and restrained. The flavor leans more toward zest, peel, and citrus oil than candy. The honey note softens the edge without turning the bottle syrupy. It is still flavored vodka, so depth has limits, but the execution is disciplined.
THE MIX

A DISTILLER’S TALE
Ketel One comes from the Nolet Distillery, a Dutch distilling family with roots in Schiedam going back to 1691. The Ketel One brand launched in 1983, named for Distilleerketel No. 1, the copper pot still associated with the house. Citroen extends that wheat-vodka base into a citrus expression, using lemon and lime character to sharpen the otherwise clean Dutch profile.
MY TAKE
Ketel One Citroen is clean, bright, and well-controlled. Lemon zest, lime peel, honey, soft wheat, and citrus oil give it a real profile without turning it into candy vodka. It is not complex in the way an aged spirit can be complex, but within the citrus-vodka lane, it is one of the more disciplined bottles.
