Product Description

PURPOSE

WHAT IS IT?

Chili threads are made from the Korean red chili pepper, these threads are elegant, long and reddish brown when dried. They have a similar heat level to the Aleppo red pepper with an additional grassy note.

EXPERIENCE

These threads can be prepared anyway you would prepare a regular chili, although when raw they are consumed raw they have a grassy flavor. When toasted the threads develop a smoky dimension and darker color. The heat is rather mild, depending on the size, around a 3 on a spice scale of 1-10.

CULINARY GEOGRAPHY

Native to and most commonly used in Korea, the chili threads are a popular garnish around south east Asia.
